Rams Fall to Ramblers in Conference Opener

Loyola Chicago Starters
Amos, Dotson, Houinsou, Moore, Rubin

How it Happened
Despite a late surge from Rhode Island sparked by an impressive defensive effort in the final three minutes of the game, the Rams fell to Loyola Chicago (5-9, 1-0) in their Atlantic 10 opener 61-57 on Wednesday afternoon at the Ryan Center.

Loyola's Miles Rubin hit a second chance layup and the Ramblers went 4-of-4 from the free throw line all within the final 2:38 of the game to help ice it for the visitors.

Loyola led by as much as 16 with 7:55 left in the second half. Despite Rhode Island not allowing another bucket after Rubin's layup, and holding Loyola to just three made field goals over the last 12 minutes of the game, the Ramblers lead was too much for the Rams to climb back from.
