KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island closes out the 2025 portion of its schedule with a trip to Philadelphia to compete in a tri-meet with La Salle and Massachusetts on Saturday.
Going against the Explorers will give Rhody its first test against Atlantic 10 competition this season. UMass is now a former member of the conference and now competes in the Mid-American Conference. The meet will
stream on YouTube via the La Salle Athletics page.
The Rams will be in action for the first time since Nov. 23, the final day of the Harold Anderson Invitational. This is the second year in a row the three teams will meet. Last season URI hosted, beating UMass 153-106 while falling to La Salle, 137-122.
Series History - Rhode Island vs. La Salle
- La Salle holds a slight 3-2 edge in the all-time series.
- The Explorers have won each of the last three meetings.
- This will be the fourth straight year the teams meet.
- La Salle is the only Atlantic 10 school Rhode Island faces in the regular season before the conference championship.
- The quartet of Gabriela Herbreder, Carlota Ungo, Camilla Frost and Tori Fenn set program records in the 200- and 400-yard medley relays for La Salle at the Queens Fall Frenzy on Nov. 24.
- They finished the 200-yard medley relay in 1:40.11 and had a time of 3:43.28 in the 400-yard medley.
Series History - Rhode Island vs. Massachusetts
- Massachusetts leads the all-time series, 19-5.
- Rhode Island has won two straight in the series, and three of the last four meetings overall.
- UMass is in its first season in the MAC after leaving the Atlantic 10 following the 2025-26 season.
- Maria Grishaeva swam a time of 2:01.39 in the 200 Individual Medley for UMass at the Terrier Invite. It was the second-fastest time in the event in program history.
Rhode Island Notes
- Diver Olivia Winslow has won nine of the 10 events she has competed in this season.
- She has won all five meets in the 1-meter dive, and he has four wins and a second-place finish in the 3-meter dive.
- At the Harold Anderson, Winslow broke the Tootell Aquatic Center record in the 3-meter with a score of 326.60.
- Julia Havice won the 50-yard freestyle race in last year's meet with La Salle and UMass, posting a time of 24.42 seconds.
- Rylee Kelly also delivered a victory in the meet, claiming first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:10.57.
- Molly Beckwith has been a part of 11 wins this season. She has been a part of wins in the 50-meter butterfly (1); 100-meter butterfly (1); 100-yard butterfly (2); 200-yard freestyle (3); 200-yard medley relay (1); 400-meter freestyle relay (1); 400-yard freestyle relay (1); and the 800-yard medley relay (1).
