RHODE ISLAND VS. GEORGE WASHINGTON - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island welcomes George Washington to the Ryan Center Saturday for the regular season finale.
- Saturday will be the 55th meeting between the two schools. The Revolutionaries hold a 44-10 advantage in the all-time series.
- The Rams have won the last four games in the series.
- Rhode Island Associate Head Coach Ali Jaques is familiar with the Revolutionaries, spending the 2023-24 season as an associate head coach in her second stint with the Buff & Blue. Jaques was on the sidelines in the 2006-08 seasons while GW went 55-11 and made consecutive appearances in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. George Washington was nationally-ranked in both seasons, peaking at No. 8 in the AP Poll and No. 9 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll in February 2007.
- The last time the Revolutionaries visited Kingston was Feb. 8, 2023 in a 64-47 Rhody win.
- George Washington last won in the series on Feb. 25, 2020 (73-56).
- In the meeting a season ago on Jan. 31, 2024, Rhode Island won 66-52 in Washington, D.C.
SCOUTING THE REVOLUTIONARIES
- George Washington enters Saturday' s matchup on a four-game skid. The last win for the Revolutionaries was back on Feb. 12 against Loyola Chicago (53-41).
- GW is led by Makayla Andrews who averages 11.8 points per game.
- George Washington announced that Caroline McCombs stepped down as head coach, and assistant coach Doug Novak will serve as interim head coach for the duration of this season. McCombs concludes her tenure with a 55-65 (.458) overall record, including a 23-42 (.354) mark in conference play.
- Last time out, George Washington fell to Massachusetts 61-55.
- The Revolutionaries are 4-7 on the road this season, while the Rams are 10-4 at the Ryan Center.
HOME SWEET HOME
- Rhode Island is back on home court for the final time of the regular season Saturday.
- In Atlantic 10 play, the Rams are 7-1 at the Ryan Center. The lone loss was to George Mason (71-65).
- Rhody's 10-4 mark in Kingston this season matches the fourth-best record at home in program history.
- It's the fourth straight season the Rams have finished within the top five all-time at home. A season ago, Rhody went 10-5 (fourth). The 2022-23 team sits at the top with its 15-1 record at the Ryan Center, while in 2021-22 the Rams went 12-2 (third).
- Head coach Tammi Reiss has turned the Ryan Center into a true home court advantage.
- Over her six seasons, Reiss is 63-18 in Kingston.
SEEING DOUBLE
- Rhode Island forward Anaelle Dutat turned in her third double-double of the year and second in as many games last time out at Saint Louis.
- Dutat paired a career-high 14 points (5-of-9) with 10 rebounds as Rhody battled, but fell short against the Billikens.
- The Cesson, France native led Rhode Island with 12 boards and 10 points in the win at UMass Feb. 23.
- Dutat is up to five career double-doubles.
