CAPTAIN'S CORNER: Ready to Make Noise

READY TO MAKE NOISE
By David Green

When it comes to the conference championship, you have to treat it differently because every game could be your last. It requires more oomph and more attention to detail.

I look at this as an opportunity to shock people and to take things further. We haven't had the best run in conference play. But starting this week, it doesn't really matter what you did in conference play. Once the tournament hits, it is win or go home.

It's an opportunity to make noise and put ourselves in a great position to win A-10s. It hasn't been done here in a few years, but I look at this as a great opportunity.

I don't really pay attention to the other teams or other things like that, unless it is someone that we are playing. But I do acknowledge that it is not just another game, and it's certainly not any other road trip. This is the end all, be all. This is what we work for all year. I don't take that for granted.

One of the big keys this week is mind and body work. We are planning for five games in five days. That takes a lot of body preservation, doing everything that helps you stay in the best condition possible after games.

We'll be watching a lot of film. We need to know and understand matchups and personnel. Everyone we'll potentially play this week, we've already played at least once. That helps a lot in terms of preparation.

It also provides a lot of motivation. Maybe it is someone we've had past success against. So you know what buttons to push or what to look for going into the game. If it's someone you lost to earlier, you have a better understanding of what you did wrong the first time, or what you need to adjust. So you look forward to making up for last time and doing better this time around.

Please come out and support us, and if you can't make it to D.C., watch the games. The fans mean a lot to us. We look forward to playing as hard as we can for as long as we can and winning the A-10s.

That is where our minds are. We are not trying to go down there and win one game. We are looking forward to winning it all.

Shows us the support and love like you have all year, and we'll make it happen.
