LAKE NONA, Fla. – Rhode Island will be the No. 4 seed and open against No. 13 St. Bonaventure at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship, the conference announced Monday.
The Rams had one of the best regular seasons in program history, going 14-5 during the Spring. The No. 4 seed is the second highest in program history, behind only the 2021 championship, when Rhode Island was seeded second in the COVID-19 abbreviated season.
Rhode Island will face No. 13 St. Bonaventure in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday, April 24. The match will begin at 9 a.m., and the winner will advance to face the winner of No. 5 VCU against No. 12 Saint Louis. The quarterfinal round will be Friday, April 25 at 9 a.m.
At the Atlantic 10 Championship, teams play best-of-seven matches. Play begins with doubles action, with the first team to win two of the three matches earning the doubles point. From there, each of the six singles matches is worth one team point. Play is stopped in all matches as soon as one team reaches four points.
The host of the tournament is the USTA National Campus,
which will stream all matches live.
