KINGSTON, R.I. – For the fourth time this Spring, Rhode Island freshman Katharina Spieth has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Spieth won her matches at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in Rhode Island's lone match of the week. She defeated UMass' Mariana Campino in straight sets 7-5, 6-4. Campino entered the match 17-6 on the year. The victory improved Spieth to 10-2 at No. 1 singles for the year.

Spieth also teamed up with Nikki Fernando for a 7-6 (3) win over Campino and Bella Jonglertrakul.

Rhode Island will face St. Bonaventure Thursday in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship. The match begins at 9 a.m.
