KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island lacrosse head coach Jenna Slowey announced three new transfers that will join the team in the fall: Marie Cacciabaudo (Virginia Tech), Kyndall Jackson (Hofstra) and Charlotte Wymes (Bryant). "We are so thrilled to welcome Marie, Kyndall, and Charlotte to our team," said Slowey. "Being part of a new program is a special task and I know these three are up to it."
Cacciabaudo spent the last two years at Virginia Tech. She made 12 appearances and scored eight goals in her debut season, including her first hat trick. The midfielder found the back of the net four times last year, and collected two assists. At Garden City High School, Cacciabaudo was a two-time Nassau County Champion (2021-22) and a Long Island Champion in 2021. "Marie is dynamic playmaker that can put the ball away, added Slowey. "Her experience playing in the ACC will elevate our competition day in and day out."
Jackson arrives in Kingston as a grad transfer after spending the last four years at Hofstra. A season ago, she made appearances in eight games and handed out five assists at midfield. Jackson played lacrosse all four years at Elizabeth Seton and over her career earned a spot on both the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Second Team and Honorable Mention squads. She earned the Maureen Lonergan Coach's Award her senior year. "Kyndall will add experience and depth to our midfield," added Slowey. "She brings energy and leadership that is evident."
Wymes spent two seasons in Smithfield at Bryant. Over her two years as a defender for the Black and Gold, she appeared in five matches collecting two ground balls. Wymes attended Bishop Feehan High School where she was a CLL and Sun Chronicle All-Star and was named Defensive Player of the Year. "Charlotte is a worker," finished Slowey. "A New England native, we are excited to see the impact she can make on our defensive end."
