RHODE ISLAND VS. VCU - SERIES NOTES

• Rhode Island hosts its second straight home game on Saturday, welcoming the Rams of VCU to the URI Soccer Complex. 
• Most recently, Rhody fell to Davidson last time out 17-7.
• It's the second to last home game for URI. Rhody will host senior day in the final home game on April 25 against Saint Joseph's. 
• A season ago, URI fell to VCU 15-9 on April 26, 2025 at Meade Stadium in the season finale.
• It was the first-ever meeting between the programs.
• VCU's 9-4 mark is the best overall start in school history. VCU's nine wins are the program record for wins in a season since the program's first season in 2016.
• The Richmond-based Rams' 5-1 start to Atlantic 10 play is the best mark in school history.

LAST TIME VS. THE (VCU) RAMS...

• A slow start doomed Rhode Island as its season ended with a 15-9 loss to VCU on Senior Day a year ago.
• With the winner getting the final spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship, VCU dominated the opening quarter. The visitors scored all four goals in the period. 
• Play was much more even in the third quarter, as Rhode Island was able to outscore VCU 4-3.
• That was as close as it got. VCU scored the final three goals of the match.
• VCU dominated the draw controls, posting a 22-6 edge. The guests also had a 27-16 edge in shots on goal.

LEADING THE WAY IN CONFERENCE PLAY

• Rhode Island women's lacrosse captain Caitlin Dellecave has scored 12 of her 15 total goals this season in Atlantic 10 action.
• Dellecave is second on the team with 30 points, adding a team-high 15 assists.
• She's started in all 13 games this season.
• The grad senior ranks 10th in the A-10 averaging 1.15 assists per game.
