RHODE ISLAND VS. DAVIDSON - SERIES NOTES

• Rhode Island returns home to welcome Davidson Saturday.
• The Rams are coming off their second Atlantic 10 victory after beating Duquense 15-8 on the road last time out.
• A season ago, URI fell to the Wildcats 18-7 on March 22, 2025 at Davidson.
• It was the first-ever meeting between the programs.
• Last time out, Davidson saw its two-game win streak snapped after falling to No. 11 Clemson 21-5.
• Davidson is led by head coach Kim Wayne who's in her 18th season at the helm.
• Jenna Skibbe paces the team with 32 goals for a team-high 32 points. 
• The Davidson women's lacrosse team was picked to finish third in the 2026 A-10 preseason rankings for the highest preseason ranking since joining the A-10.   
• Kayla Joyce, Allie Hartnett and Skibbe were featured on the all-conference preseason team.

LAST TIME VS. THE WILDCATS...

• Rhode Island could not keep pace with Davidson, falling 18-7 a season ago in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
• The Rams stayed close through the opening minutes of the second quarter. Brinley Myers' second goal of the match pulled Rhody within 7-5 just two minutes into the second period, but it was all Wildcats from there.

SHIELD NAMED A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

• Rhode Island women's lacrosse freshman Celie Shield was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. 
• It's the first career weekly honor for the Richmond, Va. native.
• Shield scored three goals to help lead the Rams to win over Duquesne last Saturday. 
• She recorded an assist for four points in the 15-8 victory- a season-high for the rookie.  
• Shield also added three ground balls and one draw control.
