RHODE ISLAND VS. DUQUESNE - SERIES NOTES
- The Rams look to get back on track on Saturday at Duquesne.

- A season ago, Rhody beat Duquesne 17-16 in the first-ever meeting on April 19.Â
- The Dukes enter Saturday on a five-game skid.
- The last win for Duquesne was a 21-4 victory at Mercyhurst Feb. 25.
- Last time out, the Dukes fell to George Mason 16-14.
- Duquesne is 0-3 at Rooney Field.
- The Dukes are led by Gracin Emerson's 52 points on 47 assists and five goals.
- Emma Raines leads the Duquesne offense with 26 goals and Ella Roach has spend over 500 minutes between the posts making 82 saves at goalie.Â
LAST TIME VS. THE DUKES...
- A season ago, Rhode Island rallied to overcome a five-goal deficit and pick up a key Atlantic 10 victory when it beat Duquesne 17-16 on the road.Â
- The Rams fell into an early four-goal deficit after Duquesne scored three unanswered to build a 7-3 lead in the first quarter. In the first period alone, the host Dukes caused eight turnovers. Duquesne had an 8-4 advantage after the first 15 minutes of play.Â
- Duquesne did not let up in the second quarter, scoring in the first minute to make it a five-goal game (9-4).
- The Rams went on a quick 3-0 spurt behind back-to-back goals from Brinley Myers and a man-down score from Caralie Basuel to cut the Duquesne lead to two (9-7). The Dukes halted the Rhody run with a score, and Myers answered again to keep the Rams within reach (10-8). But Duquesne rang off three straight goals within the final five minutes before the break for a 13-8 lead at half. Â
- The third quarter was all Rhode Island. After being down by as many as five goals at halftime, the Rams continued to chip away at the Duquesne lead. Rhody allowed one goal in the third quarter while scoring six of its own to make the score 14-14 going into the final 15 minutes of play.Â
- In the fourth quarter, it was back-and-forth as the teams went goal for goal to tie it again at 15. Basuel scored her seventh goal of the game for Rhody's first lead of the day at 16-15, but Duquesne would not go away and answered with an equalizer to keep it tied at 16.
- Caitlin Dellecave scored the eventual game winner with 4:36 to play. Myers, who had a team-high eight points on the day, set her up with the assist as the Rams were able to rally back for their third straight Atlantic 10 win.Â
BASUEL LEADS THE CHARGE
- Rhode Island redshirt sophomore Caralie Basuel leads the Rams with 36 points.
- She's scored a team-high 32 goals and has handed out four assists.
- Basuel has scored a program-record seven goals four times: twice this season and twice a year ago.Â
- Most recently, the Fairfax, Va. native scored seven goals to help lead the Rams to win over La Salle on March 18.
- She earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced Jan. 30.
- Basuel emerged as one of the top newcomers after her rookie campaign. She was named the A-10 Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team after collecting Rookie of the Week honors three times.
