Rams Look to Get Back on Track at La Salle

RHODE ISLAND VS. LA SALLE - SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island is back on the road to face La Salle Wednesday.
  • The Rams are looking to get back on track after falling to Richmond last time out.
  • Rhody is still looking for its first conference win of the season .
  • It's the second meeting all-time between the Rams and the Explorers.
  • A season ago, Rhody beat La Salle 18-12 in the first-ever meeting on April 9. 
  • URI beat Siena 7-6 for the third win of the season, and first on Rhody's "home" turf at Beirne Stadium.
  • La Salle has lost its last five straight games. 
  • The Explorers are 3-3 at McCarthy Stadium.
  • La Salle is led by Emi Waldron and her 34 points on 28 goals and six assists. 

LAST TIME VS. THE EXPLORERS...

  • A season ago, Rhode Island recorded its second Atlantic 10 win, knocking off La Salle 18-12.
  • The teams combined for 14 goals in the opening quarter. La Salle led 3-2 when Rhode Island got hot, scoring five consecutive goals to pull ahead 7-3. 
  • The offense slowed a bit for both sides in the second quarter, though URI managed to outscore the Exlorers 4-3. 
  • It was all Rhode Island in the third as the Rams pulled away and establish a 10-goal lead at 17-7.
  • La Salle scored five times in the fourth quarter to close the gap to 18-12, but the final result was never in doubt.
  • Brinley Myers scored a season-high seven goals, including six goals in the first half alone.
