RHODE ISLAND VS. SAINT JOSEPH'S - SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island heads down to Philadelphia to take on Saint Joseph's after an away match at Holy Cross, ending in a thrilling 1-0 win.
  • It's the A-10 season opener for both squads.
  • Historically, the Rams are 8-13-5 against the Hawks, with the last match being a 1-1 tie on October 20, 2024
  • Rhody hasn't lost in the all-time series against St. Joe's since a 4-1 loss in Philadelphia Oct. 24, 2019.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS

  • Saint Joseph's enters Sunday's game with a 3-4-1 record.

  • Sunday will be Senior Day for the Hawks. 
  • St. Joe's Emily Hanrahan leads the team with four goals scored, which is tied for fifth in the Atlantic 10 standings.
  • Sarah Fisher, Juliette Murio, and Hanrahan are the three players who have started all eight games for the Hawks this season.
  • Goalkeeper Alli Popham has 25 saves to her name through the first eight games of the season.

  • Rhode Island is coming off a hot 1-0 victory against Holy Cross last time out on Sept. 15.
  • It was the non-conference finale for the Rams, as they finished their non-league slate 6-2. 
  • The game was scoreless for 89 minutes, until Lily Camacho launched the ball from 40 yards out to get past the keeper.
  • It was the transfer from Seton Hall's first goal in a Rhody uniform. She had her first career goal her freshman year with the Pirates.

EDEN LOCKS IN ANOTHER SHUTOUT

  • The last match for URI was goalkeeper Dani Eden's fifth shutout of the season.
  • The junior has 26 saves and has allowed five goals through eight games.
  • The 1-0 shutout over Holy Cross last time out.
  • Eden is second in the Atlantic 10 with her five clean sheets, behind only Loyola Chicago's Allison Deardorff (six shutouts). 
  • Last season, Eden had just one appearance between the posts against Richmond before going down with a season-ending injury.
  • The Drexel transfer made eight saves in her Rhody debut against the Spiders, keeping the net empty and shutting out the visitors 6-0.
