KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island finished the 2025 season in the top 25 of both FCS national polls. The Rams appeared at No. 10 in the
AFCA FCS Coaches Poll and at No. 11 in the
Stats Perform FCS Top 25.
Previously ranked No. 9 on Nov. 24 when the final rankings of the regular season were released, Rhode Island dropped to No. 10 in the AFCA poll while earning 304 points. The Rams trailed No. 9 Lehigh (Patriot) who received 358 votes. Joined by No. 4 Villanova and No. 20 Monmouth, Rhode Island was one of three CAA teams to appear in the final AFCA poll. New Hampshire also received votes in the final poll.
In the Stats poll, Rhode Island was No. 8 during the publication's final regular season poll. The Rams earned 816 points in this week's poll and dropped to No. 11. The Rams were one of four CAA teams to appear in the Stats poll joining No. 4 Villanova, No. 22 Monmouth, and No. 23 New Hampshire.
Rhode Island won the outright CAA Football title in 2025 earning the No. 9 seed in the FCS Championship field. The Rams advanced to the second round of the FCS Championship after a win over Central Connecticut in the opening round before falling to No. 8 UC Davis in the second round of the national tournament on Dec. 6.
The 2026 season begins on Friday, Aug. 28 when the Rams visit Merrimack.
