How it Happened
Alabama scored in each of the first four innings, including an eight-run second, as Rhode Island dropped a 19-4 decision in seven innings in the opener of its weekend series in Tuscaloosa.
The Rams broke through in the fifth when Reese Moroney launched a three-run home run to center field to trim the deficit. The Crimson Tide responded with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to pull away.
Rhode Island added its final run in the seventh as Moroney scored on a Will Hindle double to center, but Alabama closed it out from there.
