KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island women's lacrosse goalie
Casey Phelps was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Phelps helped lead the Rams to their second win of the season in a 13-7 victory over Merrimack Saturday.
The Olney, Md. native had 16 saves in the win against the Warriors. She added four ground balls in the victory. It's the second career weekly conference honor for Phelps.
The Rams are back in action Friday when they start Atlantic 10 play against George Washington.
