KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island will face Duquesne in the second round of the Betterment 2026 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship, the conference announced Saturday night.

The 10th-seeded Rams and No. 7 Duquesne will play on Thursday, March 12 at 5 p.m. The winner of that game advances to face No. 2 VCU on Friday in the quarterfinal round.  

Thursday's game will air on USA Network.

Rhode Island finished the regular season 16-15 and 7-11 in conference play. Duquesne was 17-14 overall and 9-9 in A-10 competition.

Thursday will be the third meeting this season between URI and the Dukes. Duquesne won 76-61 on Feb. 1, and Rhode Island evened things up with a 64-52 win Wednesday night at the Ryan Center.

Saint Louis is the top overall seed, followed by VCU, Saint Joseph's and Dayton. Those top four seeds all earned a double bye to the quarterfinals.

The championship begins with two games on Wednesday, March 11. No. 12 La Salle plays No. 13 St. Bonaventure, followed by No. 11 Richmond against No. 14 Loyola Chicago.

The five-day tournament concludes Sunday, March 15 with the title game airing on CBS Sports Network at 1 p.m.
