RHODE ISLAND AT ST. BONAVENTURE - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island is 48-32 all time against St. Bonaventure.Â
- The first meeting between the Rams and Bonnies was in 1993 and the most recent meeting was on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Bill Beck Field in Kingston.
- The 2025 meeting between the two teams was part of a three-game weekend series. Rhode Island took the series winning the first two games on Friday, April 11, 2025 in a doubleheader.
- The Bonnies salvaged the series with a 12-8 win in game three of last year's meetings on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
- Rhode Island last trip to St. Bonaventure, N.Y. was during the 2023 season.Â
- The Rams swept the St. Bonaventure in a three-game set in 2023, outscoring the Bonnies 22-10 over the course of the visit.
RECAPPING LAST YEAR'S SERIES
- Rhode Island won game one of last year's series with the Bonnies 8-1 and held St. Bonaventure to six hits.Â
- Current Rams Reece Moroney and Scott Penney played critical roles in the game one win. Moroney went 3-for-3 and walked twice in the win with two RBI. Penney finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
- Moroney also played well in the series' second game. The junior finished game two 2-for-4.Â
- Jack Hopko had a home run in the second game of last year's series.Â
- Joe Sabbath, who was last year's closer and this year's Friday starter, pitched a two-inning save against the Bonnies in game two of the 2025 series. Sabbath faced the minimum six batters and struck out five.Â
- Sabbath is not scheduled to pitch this weekend after suffering a foot injury.Â
- Despite the loss in game three of last year's series, Hopko went 3-for-5 with a homer and five RBI.
