Team Standings | Individual Results

ORLANDO, Fla. - Tyler Bruneau fired a one-under par to lead Rhode Island in the opening round of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship Monday.

Rhode Island is tied for fifth place with Richmond after the opening round. The Rams are eight-over par as a team through one round, 11 strokes behind first-place VCU. URI was paired with VCU and George Mason in the opening round. The Patriots are in second place, one stroke behind VCU.

VCU and George Mason were the only teams under par on Monday. Third-place Dayton is five-over par (293), followed by George Washington, which is seven-over par at 295.

Bruneau was steady throughout the day for Rhode Island, sinking three birdies while carding two bogeys. He was par or better for the entire round.

"Certainly not what we hoped for, but we're still in this," Rhode Island head coach Gregg Burke said. "Tyler continued to show how much control he is his own game. But we need more from the rest of the team. The golf course is tough but fair.

"Once again we have put ourselves in a position of making a comeback. As it has been all year, we just need to be tougher. Our goal tomorrow is to play our way into the final group on Wednesday."

Aidan O'Donovan and Luke Stennett are tied for 21st in the individual standings at two-over par. O'Donovan made par on 14 of his 18 holes. Stennett's day was more active. He had five birdies to go with seven bogeys.

Josiah Tong provided the team's fourth score of the round, carding a 5-over par 77. He had two birdies, three bogeys and two double bogeys. Rhody's fifth player was Tony Liu. After starting the round six-over par, he settled down and was even par with one birdie over the final 12 holes.
