KINGSTON, R.I. — Rhode Island men's track and field had five student-athletes earn a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, while Nick Martin and Matt Santy landed on the All-Academic Team.
The All-Rookie team is compromised of the top-rookie performer in each event from meets conducted from the start of the outdoor regular season through the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship. The team was selected based off meet results submitted through the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFFRS).
Elias Sposato was the top rookie in the 400m, finishing in 46.64 seconds at the A-10 Championship.
Josia Katroli had the top mark in the high jump from his mark at the UCF Black & Gold Invite (6'11.5").
Two Rams had the best mark in the pole vault, with Carson Dean and Tyler Grabinski both marking 14' 11".
Miles Lipka's 7126-point performance in the decathlon at the A-10 Championship was the top in the conference among rookies.
The Rams had a pair named to the All-Academic Team in Nick Martin and Matt Santy after the duo also earned indoor All-Academic.
