Stennett Earns PING All-Region Honors for Second Time

KINGSTON, R.I. - For the second consecutive season, Rhode Island sophomore Luke Stennett has earned all-region honors.

He was one of 25 members of the 2026 Division I PING Northeast All-Region Team, announced Saturday afternoon by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

"I couldn't be prouder of Luke for yet another honor acknowledging his hard work but also for the growing maturity he showed through the season," Rhode Island head coach Gregg Burke said. "I'm especially proud that he made Dean's List during the Spring semester because I know how hard he worked and what it meant to him. He also became more self-aware and took more and more steps toward finding his place in the world."

Stennett played 12 tournaments for the Rams in 2025-26, helping lead the way to four team titles. For the second straight year, Stennett helped lead Rhode Island to a national postseason appearance, as URI placed third at the National Golf Invitational.

An Atlantic 10 All-Conference honoree for the second year in a row, Stennett won both the Sacred Heart Fall Classic and the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate. He was a two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, giving him five career weekly honors (4 A-10 Player of the Week awards, 1 A-10 Rookie of the Week).

"Luke's golf talent is limitless," Burke said. "As he learns more and more about course management, he will be unstoppable."

In 2025-26, Stennett averaged a team-best 72.5 shots per round. He had five top-10 finishes. In addition to his two individual titles, he was sixth out of 71 golfers at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship. Stennett also was seventh at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse and ninth at the Nassau Intercollegiate.

There were 150 golfers across six regions nationally to be recognized on the 2026 Division I PING All-Region Teams.
