KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island will play Liberty and UAB as part of the 2026 Greenbrier Tip-Off, it was announced Thursday.
URI will be one of six teams participating in the River Division of the Greenbrier Tip-Off. The event features a triple-header of contests in on both Nov. 20 and Nov. 22. The Rams will play Liberty on Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m. and UAB on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m.
Liberty finished the 2025-26 season 23-8, including a 17-3 mark in Conference USA. The Flames qualified for the NIT, beating George Mason in the opening round before falling to Nevada.
UAB was 20-12 overall last season and 11-7 in the American. The Greenbrier gives Rhode Island two contests against top-120 teams in the season-ending NET rankings, as Liberty was ranked 102 and UAB was ranked 118 at the conclusion of last year.
Rhode Island is one of three Atlantic 10 teams in the River Division of the Greenbrier. George Washington and Richmond are also participating, along with Western Kentucky from Conference USA.
