KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island had eight players named to the Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-American Team, it was announced Monday. The Rams also had 13 selections on the publication's All-CAA team. 

Wide receiver Marquis Buchanan and linebacker Moses Meus were named to the First Team. Rhode Island's Second Team contingent included offensive lineman Tre Alexander, defensive lineman Case Mankins, and long snapper Dillon Keough. Quarterback Devin Farrell and linebacker Rohan Davy were named Third Team selections, while defensive back Andre DePina-Gray landed a spot on the Fourth Team. 

Farrell, Buchanan, Alexander, Meus, Davy, and Keough all also appeared on the Phill Steele All-CAA First Team. DePina-Gray, wide receiver Aborra Kwarteng, and offensive lineman Damon McMillian were all apart of the All-CAA Second Team. Running back BJ Barrow, tight end Will Dixon, and defensive back Trey Lubin each landed on the All-CAA Third Team. 

Both of Phil Steele's CAA Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year were from Rhode Island. Buchanan was tabbed as the offensive selection, while Meus was named the defensive's top player. 

URI will begin its season at Merrimack on Friday, Aug. 28. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
