Rams Aim to Get Back on Track at North Carolina A&T

RHODE ISLAND AT NORTH CAROLINA A&T SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island heads to North Carolina A&T for its fourth road trip in five games to start 2026.
  • The Rams and Aggies have met just one other time in each program's respective history.
  • North Carolina A&T visited Meade Stadium on Nov. 11, 2023 during the Aggies first season competing in CAA Football.
  • Rhode Island got the best of North Carolina A&T 31-24 in the 2023 meeting.
  • With the game tied at 24-24 with less than three minutes remaining, Rhode Island's Ja'Den McKenzie scored on a 4-yard run to give Rhode Island the lead and eventual win. 
  • McKenzie had 233 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the game. 
  • That total remains the third-most rushing yards in a single game in Rhode Island history. It trails only Pat Abbruzzi's 306 rushing yards against New Hampshire in 1952 and David Jamison's 260 rushing yards against New Hampshire in 2001.
  • Rhode Island's quarterback during the 2023 meeting with the Aggies was Kasim Hill. Hill is currently on the Rhode Island staff as an offensive assistant working with the quarterbacks and wide receivers. 
  • Current director of football operations Brady Roark also played in the game. Roark had one reception for eight yards in the Rams win. 

ON THE RHODE AGAIN

  • Rhode Island opened up its 2026 season with four road games over its first five week. 
  • The Rams have traveled to North Andover, Mass., Philadelphia, Pa., Stony Brook, N.Y., and now Greensboro, N.C. in the season's first five weeks. 
  • Upon returning from Greensboro, Rhode Island has traveled roughly 2,200 miles over the course of its four road trips. 
  • The Rams enjoy a friendly travel schedule the rest of the regular season.
  • Along with its bye week the weekend of Oct. 10, the Rams have three home games during the month of October. 
  • The lone away game the Rams have in October is at Yale, which is 95 miles south of Kingston. 
  • Through October and November, Rhode Island is slated to travel roughly 530 miles with road contests at Yale in New Haven, Conn., New Hampshire in Durham, N.H., and Bryant in Smithfield, R.I.
