Men's Hoops Records Its Second-Straight Win, 68-56, Over Duquesne

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Tavorris Bell scored 24 points to lead Rhode Island over Duquesne 68-56 Tuesday.

Luther Clay added 15 points and 16 rebounds and Zach Marbury had 15 points for the Rams (5-12, 2-2 Atlantic 10), who have won two straight after losing 10 in a row.

Duquesne (8-8, 3-2) was led by Wayne Smith, who scored 15 points on 6-for-18 shooting.

Duquesne, which led only once early in the game, closed to within 50-47 with 6:38 left on a basket by Simon Ogunlesi. But Rhode Island steadily pulled away, sinking 10 of 15 free throws as the Dukes fouled in desperation.

The Rams held the Dukes to 33 percent shooting (19-for-57). Duquesne made 2 of 20 3-pointers, well below its average of 42 percent.

Rhode Island jumped out to a 28-22 first half lead, as Bell scored 14 points.
