KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - J.R. Bremer had 16 points as St. Bonaventure took advantage of strong rebounding to beat Rhode Island 64-54 Wednesday.

Zach Marbury led all scorers with 25 points for Rhode Island (5-20, 2-10 Atlantic-10), which lost its eighth straight. Tavorris Bell added 14.

Patricio Prato and David Messiah Capers each had 11 points for St. Bonaventure (15-7, 7-4).

The Bonnies dominated most aspects of the contest, especially the offensive boards, using their inside strength to outscore Rhode Island 15-5 in second-chance points.

Leading 29-26 at the break, the Bonnies outscored the Rams 9-2 in the first six minutes of the second half to go up 37-28. Marbury then hit a 3-pointer to move Rhode Island within six, but it proved the closest the Rams would come the rest of the way.
