Rams Drop Decision To Maine, 26-14

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Royston English rushed for 213 yards and two touchdowns Saturday to lead Maine to a 26-14 win over Rhode Island.

The Black Bears (6-2, 5-2 Atlantic 10) built a 20-7 halftime lead on a pair of first-quarter scoring passes from Jake Eaton. Eaton connected with Stefan Gomes from 41 yards and found Paris Minor from 29 yards for a 13-0 lead.

English scored on a 10-yard run at 8:44 of the second quarter to make it 20-0, but Unitas Todd blocked a punt and returned it 27 yards to put Rhode Island (7-2, 5-2) on the board.

English scored on a 73-yard run at 11:26 of the third quarter.

Eaton completed 11-of-23 passes for 142 yards. Gomes caught six passes for 85 yards.

David Jamison rushed for 76 yards and an 8-yard touchdown on 24 carries for Rhode Island, which has lost two straight after winning its first seven games. Vince Nedimyer completed 10-of-27 passes for 156 yards and one interception.
