KINGSTON, R. I. (AP) - Richmond beat Rhode Island 26-0 Sunday, completing a game that was suspended at halftime Saturday because the field was flooded by a sudden rain storm.

Kenny Dantzler and Boyd Ouden scored two touchdowns apiece for Richmond (3-4, 3-2 Atlantic 10).

The Spiders led 6-0 at halftime when the game was suspended. Flooding began on the Rhode Island sideline during the first half, and a downpour at halftime put the entire field under water.

The Meade Stadium field had already begun to dry Saturday night, and the game resumed at noon Sunday.

Richmond took advantage of the drier conditions Sunday, scoring two touchdowns in the first 3:15 of the third quarter.

Dantzler scored on a 13-yard run to put Richmond up 13-0. On the Spiders' next possession Ouden caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from quarterback D'Arcy Wills to give Richmond a 20-0 lead.

The Spiders held Rhode Island (3-5, 1-4) to 195 yards of total offense.

Dantzler closed the scoring with a 51-yard touchdown run with 41 seconds left.

The only scoring Saturday came on a 22-yard touchdown pass to Ouden from Wills with 1:59 left in the first half.

Rhode Island was hurt by turnovers, as Jayson Davis threw two interceptions, and the Rams lost three fumbles. Davis completed 8 of 21 passes for 104 yards.
