Rams Drop Decision To William & Mary, 37-24

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Lang Campbell threw three touchdown passes as William and Mary (2-5, 1-4) beat Rhode Island 37-24 at Meade Stadium for their first Atlantic 10 victory of the season.

Campbell gave William and Mary (2-5, 1-4 A-10) a 20-10 lead 28 seconds before halftime by finding Rich Musinski with a 9-yard TD pass. Wendall Williams brought Rhode Island (3-5, 2-4) to 20-17 late in the third quarter with a 29-yard touchdown run, but Campbell and Musinski hooked up again, this time from 11 yards out, to put the Tribe ahead 27-17 on the ensuing drive.

Williams, who gained 105 yards of total offense, brought the Rams to 30-24 with a 93-yard kickoff return midway through the fourth quarter. But the Tribe sealed the win when Adam O'Connor recovered a fumble in the end zone with 3:38 left that gave William and Mary a 37-24 lead.

Campbell was 18-for-28 passing for 259 yards, and Delmus Coley rushed for 104 yards to lead William and Mary. Jason Ham rushed for 97 yards to lead the Rams.

The Tribe racked up 477 yards of total offense and controlled the ball for 36:41.
