SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) - Dawan Robinson scored 19 points, including
5-of-6 from 3-point range, as Rhode Island won its seventh straight game 94-56
over Vermont on Tuesday night.
The Rams (10-2) led by as many as 40 in the second half, and shot a school
record 72 percent from 3-point range (13 for 18), 62 percent from the field
overall.
Brian Woodward and Jamaal Wise each had 14 points and Terrence Mack had 10.
The Rams hit their first four 3-pointers and went 7 of 9 on threes in the
first half to take a 43-28 halftime lead. Robinson hit a pair while Dustin
Hellenga and Woodward hit one each in the half.
Taylor Coppenrath led Vermont (3-5) with 22 points, but the Rams made him
work for every one. Rhode Island sent several different players at the
Catamounts leading scorer, and blocked his shot several times in the first
half.
