Rams Fly Past Fordham, 75-54

NEW YORK (AP) - Dawan Robinson was 8-of-12 from the field and scored 18 points to lead Rhode Island to a 75-54 victory over Fordham on Saturday.

Dustin Hellenga, who hit four 3-pointers, added 16 points for Rhode Island (13-7, 2-4 Atlantic 10).

Drew Williamson, with 11 points, was the only double-figure scorer for Fordham (4-12, 1-4), which lost its third straight, while Mushon Yaakosi had nine points and 11 rebounds.

Jermaine Anderson had five points as Fordham took a 15-5 lead at 14:50 of the first half. But Rhode Island scored 20 unanswered points, including two 3s by Hellenga, to go up 25-15 with 2:52 left in the half.

Two free throws by Yaakosi got Fordham within 30-26 59 seconds into the second half. Williamson hit a jumper to keep Fordham close, 40-34 with 13:51 left, but Robinson had two baskets in Rhode Island's 9-0 run that put the game out of reach, 49-34 with 11:28 left.
