Sullivan's 3-pointer Leads Men's Basketball Over St. Bonaventure, 72-70

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) - Ty Sullivan's 3-pointer with 3.7 seconds to play lifted Rhode Island to a 72-70 win over St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night.

Sullivan grabbed a loose ball and had an open look from the top of the key after Rhode Island missed two shots from in close for the game-winner. Ahmad Smith missed a desperation 3-pointer from near halfcourt at the buzzer.

St. Bonaventure had taken a 70-69 lead with 32 seconds to play on a Smith 3-pointer.

Smith and Wade Dunston led St. Bonaventure with 23 points apiece, both career highs. Dunston had 17 of St. Bonaventure's 27 first half points.

Marcel Momplaisir led Rhode Island with a career-high 20 points. Terrence Mack also had a career high for Rhode Island with 19. Scott Hazleton scored 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Momplaisir scored 12 points in the first half, hitting all five of his attempts. He scored a basket on a move in the post and followed it with a 3-pointer with 1:25 to play in the first for a 31-24 Rhode Island lead.

Terrence Mack also scored 12 points in the first half as Rhode Island took a 33-27 halftime lead.
