Men's Basketball Comes Back To Down Fordham, 64-59

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. - Jamaal Wise had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Rhode Island used a 20-2 run to overcame a 10-point second-half deficit for a 64-59 win over Fordham on Saturday.

Trailing 42-32, Rhode Island (7-6, 1-1 Atlantic 10) went on its big run to take a 52-44 lead. Jimmy Baron hit a pair of 3-pointers in the run, the second of which gave Rhode Island a 45-44 lead with 9:21 to play. It never trailed again.

During the run, Rhode Island held Fordham without a field goal for a span of 6:46.

Bryant Dunston scored with 9:34 to play in the game to put Fordham on top 44-39. Fordham didn't make another basket until Jermaine Anderson knocked down a 3-pointer with 2:48 to play, pulling Fordham within 54-50.

Will Daniels added 11 points for Rhode Island, while Dunston led Fordham (5-9, 1-1) with 16 points and Anderson added 15.

Rhode Island didn't make a field goal in the final 3:44 of play, but went 10-of-14 from the foul line to maintain the lead.

Daniels hit a 3-pointer with 43 seconds left in the first half to give Rhode Island a 26-25 lead.
