Fordham Outlasts Men's Basketball In Double OT, 79-76

NEW YORK (AP) - Bryant Dunston had 23 points and 14 rebounds Sunday to lead Fordham to its fourth straight victory, 79-76 over Rhode Island in double overtime.

Marcus Stout, who made three free throws in the final 7 seconds of the second overtime, and Jermaine Anderson each had 19 points for Fordham (12-11, 7-3 Atlantic 10).

Dawan Robinson scored 24 points to lead Rhode Island (12-10, 5-5), while Will Daniels added 17 and J.R. Moore 10.

Sebastien Greene's unusual three-point play was part of a 6-0 run by Fordham in the second overtime. Greene made the first of two free throws with 44 seconds left. He missed the second but got the rebound and scored. Anderson's jumper capped the run to make it 76-70.

Jim Baron hit 3 with 16 seconds left to cut Fordham's lead in half. Stout made one free throw, then Robinson hit a 3 with 7.7 seconds left to make it 77-76.

Stout made two free throws with 7.4 seconds left for a three-point lead and Baron's 3-point attempt to tie bounced off the rim at the buzzer.

Anderson's 3 with 21 seconds left in regulation tied the game at 58.

Rhode Island took the lead three times in the first overtime, the last on a fadeaway jumper by Robinson with 1:23 to go. Stout tied it at 64 with a jumper with 44 seconds left in the first overtime.
