KINGSTON, R.I. - Junior quarterback
Derek Cassidy (Winter Haven, Fla.) scored four touchdowns and freshman back
Anthony Ferrer (West Greenwich, R.I.) rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown as the University of Rhode Island football team capped its 2007 season with a 35-30 win over Northeastern University in CAA Football action Saturday afternoon at Meade Stadium.

"This was a total team effort," said URI head coach Tim Stowers. "Derek Cassidy continues to improve as a starting quarterback, and Anthony Ferrer stepped in for (injured RB) Joe Casey and played well. It's always great when a local guy rushes for over 100 yards."
The Huskies (3-8, 2-6 CAA) rushed out to a 14-0 lead behind a five-yard touchdown run from Alex Broomfield and a 14-yard sprint from Maurice Murray in the first quarter. Five plays later, Cassidy plunged into the endzone from two-yards out to give the Rams the lead for good at 28-24 with 42 seconds remaining in the third.
