KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Football moved up one spot to No. 6 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and remained No. 8 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll, both of which were released Monday morning.

The Rams (1-0) received 1,070 points in the Stats Perform poll, finishing 93 points behind No. 5 Tarleton State, which received 1,163 points.

In the AFCA poll, Rhode Island held steady at No. 8 with 463 points. The Rams were just three points behind No. 7 Youngstown State, which received 466 points.

Rhode Island was the only CAA Football program ranked in either national poll this week. Elon, Monmouth and UAlbany received votes in the Stats Perform poll, while Maine, Monmouth, Elon, and Campbell received votes in the AFCA poll.

The Rams return to action Saturday, Sept. 5, when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to face Temple. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
