KINGSTON, R.I. - Junior Delroy James scored a game-high 21 points as the Rhode Island men's basketball team (2-0) cruised to its first victory at home 92-75 over Holy Cross.

James finished the game going 9-of-13 from the floor. James was one of five players, which scored in double figures. Lamonte Ulmer, Keith Cothran, Marquis Jones and Akeem Richmond finished the game with 13, 11, 10 and 10 points, respectively.

Since the 2006-07 season, Rhode Island is 26-8 in games when Cothran tallies double-figures in scoring.

Rhody outshot Holy Cross 51.5-46.7 percent and held a 40-33 advantage on the glass. URI also forced the Crusaders into 10 turnovers.

Rhody opened up a 51-33 first half lead and never looked back as it lead for the entire game. URI began the game connecting on its first five field goal attempts, taking an 11-2 lead through the first 4:00 minutes of play.

In the second half, the Rams increased its lead to 23 points with 4:01 minutes remaining.

URI returns to action on Tuesday as it welcomes Stony Brook to the Ryan Center. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
