DAYTON, Ohio - The Rhode Island women's
volleyball team (11-4; 2-1 Atlantic 10) dropped its first match
since Sept. 4 as it fell 3-0 to No. 20 Dayton Friday night at the
Frericks Center.
Freshman Britta Baarstad
led the way for the Rams offensively as she tallied a team-best
eight kills, while posting a hitting percentage of .273. Sophomore
Annie Nelson
also chipped in offensively as she dished out 25 assists.
As a team, Dayton held Rhody to just .141 hitting. The Flyers
also recorded 10.5 team blocks.
Dayton opened the match with a 25-14 victory in game one. The
Flyers then went on to claim sets two and three by counts of 25-15
and 25-19, respectively.
Rhody concludes its two-match swing in Ohio on Saturday as it
takes on Xavier. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
