In the third set, URI reclaimed the match advantage with a 25-18 victory. Fordham held a 11-9 lead early in the set, but the Rams charged back by winning the seven points to take 16-11 lead it would not relinquish.

Fordham evened the match in fourth set thanks to a 26-24 win, which forced a fifth game. In the fifth set, URI fell behind early (1-0), but that was the last time it would trail for the remainder of the set as it went on to a 15-11 victory.
