BRONX, N.Y. - The Rhode Island women's
volleyball team (12-11; 3-7 Atlantic 10) snapped its eight match
losing streak as it defeated Fordham 3-2 Friday evening at Rose
Hill Gymasium.

and Jill
Anderson all finished with double-digit kill totals as they
recorded 15, 12, 15, 14 and 14 terminations apiece. Wilson also led
the team with a season-high 22 digs.
Junior Candice Kolkka
also chipped in offensively as she tallied a career-high 59
assists.
Rhody took the match lead as it posted a 25-21 victory in game
one thanks to a .455 attack percentage. In the second frame,
Fordham took a 2-1 lead and never looked back as it claimed a 25-16
triumph in game two.
In the third set, URI reclaimed the match advantage with a 25-18
victory. Fordham held a 11-9 lead early in the set, but the Rams
charged back by winning the seven points to take 16-11 lead it
would not relinquish.
Fordham evened the match in fourth set thanks to a 26-24 win,
which forced a fifth game. In the fifth set, URI fell behind early
(1-0), but that was the last time it would trail for the remainder
of the set as it went on to a 15-11 victory.
Rhody returns to action on Sunday as it welcomes Duquesne to
Keaney Gymnasium. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
