Rams Finish 11th at Wolfpack Intercollegiate

Final Results

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Rhode Island finished in 11th place overall at the Wolfpack Invitational.

The Rams posted their best scores of the season, totaling 886 over the two days of competition (301-286-299).

The two-day, 54-hole tournament was contested Oct. 4-5 at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course (par 71, 7,358 yards) on the campus of N.C. State.

Patrick Pelletier led Rhode Island, tying for 29th place. He carded a three-round total of 220 (76-65-79), which included setting a course record of 65 (-6) during Monday's afternoon session.

Branden Chicorka finished one stroke behind, with a 221 - good for a tie for 32nd. The sophomore sandwiched a second round 73 (+2) with rounds of 74 on Monday morning and Tuesday.

John Kelly had his best round of the fall on Tuesday, carding a 2-over 73. He finished in a tie for 38th place, with a total score of 222 (74-75-73).

Taylor Fontaine finished in a tie for 56th place (77-73-76=226), while Ben Conway closed out the Rhode golfers with a tie for 69th place (77-77-76=230).

N.C. State - the host school - captured the team title, with a three-round total of 844 (285-276-283). The Wolfpack's Albin Choi took the individual title, with a 6-under total of 207 (69-66-72).

The Rams return to action this weekend at the Big 5 Golf Invitational, held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club on Oct. 9-10 in Philadelphia.
