KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island has been picked to finish third out of 12 teams at the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship, according to a poll of the league's coaches, the league announced Monday.
The Rams received three first-place votes and had 125 points overall. VCU (133 points, three first-place votes) and Richmond (130 points, five first-place votes) were the only teams picked ahead of Rhode Island. George Mason (93 points, one first-place vote) and Dayton (89 points) rounded out the top five.
Rhode Island has won four team titles in nine tournaments this season. The Rams are currently ranked 133rd out of 310 Division I men's programs nationally. Only VCU (119) is ranked higher among Atlantic 10 schools.
URI is back in action Monday, April 6 when it competes at the Wildcat Spring Invitational, hosted by Villanova.
