KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's
volleyball team (13-13; 4-9 Atlantic 10) dropped a 3-0 decision to
Xavier Sunday afternoon inside Keaney Gymnasium on Senior Day.
Prior to the match, URI honored seniors, Chelsea Boyle, Kalyn Klaess,
Amy Mellard,
Lauren
McIntosh and Kayla Newberg.

Anderson all chipped in offensively with six kills apiece.
Xavier opened the match with a 26-24 victory despite being
outhit by Rhody .267-.162. In the second set, no team led by more
than three points in the early going. The Musketeers would then run
off six points to take a 22-14 lead. XU would then go on to claim a
25-17 victory.
XU would then close out the Rams in the third set thanks to a
25-17 victory. The Rams were out hit .364-.-034 in the frame.
Rhody returns to action on Friday as it heads to Charlotte.
