HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Rhode Island volleyball team came up short in a 3-2 loss at Colgate, Friday night.

Rachel Zarazan led the way for Rhody with 12 kills and 10 digs. Kalyn Klaess, meanwhile, recorded a match-high 15 digs while Lindsay Potts added 11.

Colgate jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after downing URI, 25-12, in the first game, but the Rams came back and evened the score after winning the second game by a score of 25-19.

Rhody was narrowly edged in game three, falling 26-24, before rallying back again to post a 25-18 victory in the fourth game. However, Colgate went on to claim the match with a 15-9 win in the decisive fifth set.

The Rams returns to action at the Colgate Classic on Saturday, when they take on Syracuse at 3 p.m.
