HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Rhode Island volleyball team (1-2) fell 3-0 to Syracuse in the final day of the 2010 Colgate Classic.

The Rams were outhit by the Orange .275-.144. Individually, freshmen Britta Baarstad and Jill Anderson led the way offensively as both players tallied eight kills apiece. Anderson also hit a team-best .467.

Sophomore Annie Nelson also chipped in offensively as she tallied 24 assists.

Syracuse claimed the first set 25-20 despite being outhit by Rhody (.200-.129). In the second frame, the Orange posted another 25-20 victory and hit .438. SU closed out URI in the third frame with a 25-16 win.
