First Round Results

SOUTH KENT, Conn. -- Rhode Island sits in 12th place after round one of the Hartford Hawks Invitational, played at the Bull's Bridge G.C. (par 72 - 6,992 yards).

John Kelly leads the way for Rhode Island, with a first round 76. Kelly shot 39 on the front, following that up with a 37 on the back nine. He is tied for 27th place.

Patrick Pelletier sits one stroke behind, with a 77. The senior shot a 1-under 35 on the front nine and currently sits in a tie for 31st.

Ben Conway is tied for 46th place (39-40=79), while Taylor Fontaine is tied for 55th (40-40=80). Branden Chicorka rounds out the URI golfers, in a tie for 66th place (40-43=83).

The Rams posted a score of 312 in the first 18 holes of action. Connecticut sits atop the team leaderboard (290).

The second round had to be suspended due to darkness and inclement weather. It will be completed, along with the full 18-hole final round, on Tuesday.
