Volleyball Downs Stony Brook, Falls to Yale

NEW HAVEN, CONN. - The Rhode Island volleyball team closed out competition at the Yale Invitational by splitting a pair of matches with Stony Brook and the host Bulldogs. Rhody first downed the Seawolves, 3-1, before falling, 3-0, to Yale.

Lauren McIntosh led all players with 12 kills in the Rams' win over Stony Brook while Ashley Tennant turned in a match-high 11 digs. Annie Nelson also added a match-high 32 assists.

Against Yale, Britta Baarstad (16) and Rachel Zarazan (10) each posted double-digit kills while Nelson finished with 40 assists and 13 digs. Tennant, meanwhile, led the Rams with 14 digs.

The Rams (3-3) return to Kingston for their home opener vs. Maryland Eastern Shore, Thursday night at 7 p.m.
