RHODE ISLAND VS. MAINE - ALL-TIME SERIES
Rhode Island and Maine have met 89 times with the Black Bears holding a 52-34-3 series advantage. Last year, on Oct. 23, 2010, Rhody saw TE Joe Migliarese's gamewinning TD in the final seconds waved off as Rhody fell 28-23 at home to Maine. URI's last win over the Black Bears came back on Oct. 28, 2006 (URI 6, Maine 0).

RHODE ISLAND VERSUS RANKED OPPONENTS
Dating back to the 1993 season, URI is 12-60 all-time versus ranked opponents.  Last season, the Rams were 3-3 versus ranked teams, downing #8 UNH (28-25), #3 Villanova (17-14), and #19 UMass (37-34).

PROBST RUSHES FOR CAREER-HIGHS AT BROWN
Quarterback Steve Probst racked up a career-high 180 yards on the ground at Brown on Oct. 1.  The senior signal-caller had his two longest career rushes - both for TD's.  In the first quarter, Probst broke through the line for a 71-yard score.  In the 3rd, he added a 61-yard run to the endzone.  It was the highest single-game rushing total by a Rhody player since Jayson Davis gained 189 yards vs. Villanova on Oct. 22, 2005.

MORE ABOUT PROBST'S TD RUSHES
Steve Probst's 71-yard touchdown run was the longest single-run from scrimmage since Oct. 13, 2007, when Jerell Jones broke out with an 84-yard run versus James Madison.  His 61-yard scamper was the longest since Anthony Ferrer's 68-yard score against Brown on Oct. 3, 2009.

ZOCCO TACKLING STRONG
Sophomore LB Dave Zocco has been a consistent force on the Rhody defense in 2011.  Through five games, Zocco set or tied his single-game highs in stops.  Last time out vs. ODU, the Nashua, N.H. native led the way with 12 tackles.  He ranks 10th in the league in tackles (9.2), while tying teammate Doug Johnson for the CAA lead in tackles for loss (1.6) and tying for seventh in sacks (0.5)

ROCK SOLID
Rhode Island junior Kyle Bogumil has started in every game at offensive guard since the start of the 2009 season. Last week against Brown, Bogumil logged his 26th consecutive start.

HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLE
Senior Anthony Baskerville has had an exceptional start to the 2011 season.  The 5-11, 189 lb. WR ranks fourth in CAA Football in receiving yards per game, (62.4).  Earlier this season, he set a new single-game highs with 134 receiving yards at UMass on Sept. 17 and 119 rushing yards vs. Fordham on Sept. 24.

CAREER-HIGH FOR MIGLIARESE
Junior tight end Joe Migliarese racked up a career-best 65 receiving yards vs. Brown on Oct. 1.  His previous high - 56 yards - came last year at Richmond on Nov. 13.

JOHNSON AT A LOSS
Junior linebacker Doug Johnson leads CAA Football in tackles for loss, averaging 2.0 per game. Against UMass on Sept. 17, the Warwick, R.I. native made five TFL for a loss of 22 yards.  Johnson is also tied for the conference lead in sacks, averaging 0.75 per game.  His first interception of the season sealed URI's victory vs. Fordham.  

DULANY DOING IT ON D
Senior safety Darrell Dulany made a single-game career high 13 tackles at UMass.  His previous high was nine, set the week before at Syracuse.

HAVE YOU HURD?
Travis Hurd - a 2010 All-CAA Football First Teamer as a returner - scored his first rushing touchdown at Syracuse to open the season.  He added two more - including the gamewinning score with 1:13 left in the fourth quarter vs. Fordham.  

PROBST BLUE RIBBON
Following a year where he set single season career highs in virtuallly every passing category, quarterback Steve Probst continues to set new career marks in 2011.  At UMass on Sept. 17, Probst set new career-bests in passing (279 yards), passing TD's (4), and longest reception (83).  He completed TD passes to Brandon Johnson-Farrell (18 yards), Ty Bynum (39), Billy Morgan (48) and Anthony Baskerville (83).

BIG WILLIE STYLE
Senior Willie McGinnis registered two tackles for a loss at Syracuse.  He ranked second on the Rams in TFL last year, with 10.5 and now has 26.0 for his career - good for seventh on the all-time URI career list.

TRAINER ANNOUNCES 2011 TEAM CAPTAINS
Prior to the Sept. 10 season opener at Syracuse, head coach Joe Trainer announced his six team captains - offensive linemen Kyle Bogumil and Jason Foster, defensive back Darrell Dulany, quarterback Steve Probst, and defensive tackles Matt Rae and Willie McGinnis.  "These six senior captains represent the best leadership we have had since I have been here and I am confident this group will effectively lead this team in 2011," Trainer said. "I couldn't be happier with our entire senior class and what they bring to this team."

PROBST AND HURD SELECTED TO 2011 CAA FOOTBALL PRESEASON ALL-LEAGUE TEAM
Senior quarterback Steve Probst and sophomore kick returner Travis Hurd were each selected to the 2011 CAA Football Preseason All-League Team. The selections were voted on by the league's 11 head coaches and media relations personnel.

RAMS WELL REPRESENTED ON THE PHIL STEELE ALL-CAA PRESEASON SQUAD
Five Rhode Island players were selected to the Phil Steele Preseason All-CAA Team as part of its 2011 FCS Preview. Senior offensive lineman Jason Foster and sophomore kick returner Travis Hurd were named First Team. Earning Second Team honors for Rhody were seniors Kyle Bogumil (offensive lineman), Willie McGinnis (defensive lineman), and Matt Rae (defensive lineman).

ROAD ISLAND
For the first time since 1982, URI started a season with back-to-back road games.  That season, the Rams played their first three contests away from Meade Stadium.

GETTING IT DONE IN THE CLASSROOM
This past year 13 players were selected to the CAA Football All-Academic team. In two years, the Rams have placed 23 players on the team - a number that ranks third in CAA Football during that period.

Rhode Island returns home on Oct. 22 for its annual Homecoming game.  The Rams host CAA rival Delaware in a 12:30 p.m. kickoff at Meade Stadium.
