How it Happened
Just 29 seconds into Sunday's A-10 matchup when Charlotte's
Jonna Handra scored, putting the 49er's on top, with help from
Carrie Dail and Macky Wingo. Wingo then scored the game-winner at
the 77-minute marker, her fifth on the season, with Oni Bernard and
Taylor Rovito each assisting.
What it Means
Rhode Island has been shutout in their last four games: on Sept.
28 in non-conference play vs. Brown (1-0), and in three A-10
matches: Oct. 1 at Massachusetts (2-0), Oct. 7 at Saint Louis (1-0)
and in Sunday's game at Charlotte (2-0).
The Rams now fall to 5-7-1 overall and 0-3-0 in A-10 play, going
1-5-1 away and 4-2-0 at the URI Soccer Complex.
