RHODE ISLAND VS. TOWSON - ALL-TIME SERIES
Rhode Island and Towson have met 11 times with the Rams leading the all-time series, 6-5. The last meeting between the two teams occurred last year, on Oct. 30, 2010, with URI earning a 30-20 victory.

RHODE ISLAND VERSUS RANKED OPPONENTS
Dating back to the 1993 season, URI is 14-63 all-time versus ranked opponents. This season, Rhody has wins over two ranked foes - #13 Delaware (38-34) and #19 William & Mary (24-21).  Last season, the Rams were 3-3 versus ranked teams, downing #8 UNH (28-25), #3 Villanova (17-14), and #19 UMass (37-34).  Rhody has defeated a nationally-ranked opponent in four of the last five seasons.

RHODE ISLAND SAYS GOODBYE TO 18 SENIORS
Prior to today's game against Towson, the Rams will honor this year's 18-player senior class:  Darrell Dulany, Robenson Alexis, Evan Shields, Zack Moore, Anthony Baskerville, Steve Probst, Ahkiel White, Louis Feinstein, Stanley Dunbar, Michael Okunfolami, Chris Mancuso, Josue Garcia, Willie McGinnis, Michael Gross, Kyle Bogumil, Jason Foster, Matt Sheard, and Matt Rae.

RAE, ELLIOTT NAMED TO CAPITOL ONE/NCAA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM
Seniors Matt Rae and Kyle Elliott have been named to the Capitol One/NCAA Division I Academic All-District First Team.  Rae and Elliott are among 25 Division I players from District I to receive the honor. To be eligible for the team, student-athletes must carry a 3.3 or better grade point average, be a starter or key reserve and be at least a sophomore in academic standing.  This is the third consecutive season Rae has made the squad. The senior captain has a 3.71 grade point average in biological sciences. For the season, the York, Pa. native has 44 tackles, including 5.5 for loss.  Elliot, from Cresskill, N.J., has started 17 games on the offensive line for Rhode Island the last two seasons, including all nine games at right guard this year. He came to URI as a quarterback, then played defensive end before making the switch from defense to offense early last season. Elliott has a 3.63 grade point average in finance.  Capitol Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. As first-team selections, Rae and Elliott are eligible for the Academic All-America Team ballot.

BIG WILLIE STYLE
Senior Willie McGinnis has registered 10.0 tackles for a loss so far this season.  Last year, he ranked second on the Rams in TFL (10.5) and now has 30.5 for his career - good for fifth on the all-time URI career list.

BENTSEN RANKS AMONG CAA LEADERS
Sophomore Bob Bentsen ranks fourth in passing efficiency in CAA Football, with a 136.4 rating.  In five games under center, he  has completed 77-of-125 for 965 yards and eight TD's  He is also averaging 193.0 passing yards per game he has played under center - which would be good for fourth in the league.

HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLE
Senior Anthony Baskerville has emerged as one of the top wide receivers in CAA Football.  Baskerville ranks second in CAA Football in receiving yards per game, (71.7) and seventh in receptions per game (4.5).   This season, the 5-11, 189 lb. wideout set several new single-game highs: receiving yards (142 vs. Delaware); TD receptions (2, at Maine); long reception (83 yards, at Massachusetts); rushing yards (119, vs. Fordham); all-purpose yards (182, vs. Fordham).

ZOCCO TACKLING STRONG
Sophomore LB Dave Zocco has been a consistent force on the Rhody defense in 2011.  Through 10 games, Zocco set or tied his single-game highs in stops on six separate occasions.  Last time out - at James Madison - he registered a season and career-best 15 tackles (8 solo).  He ranks 10th in the league in tackles (8.7) and tied for fifth in tackles for loss (1.2).

JOHNSON AT A LOSS
Junior linebacker Doug Johnson ranks first in CAA Football in tackles for loss, averaging 1.45 per game. Last time out at James Madison, Johnson made 2.5 TFL - including two sacks.  Against UMass on Sept. 17, the Warwick, R.I. native made a season-high five tackles for a loss of 22 yards.  

FEINSTEIN NAMED CAA FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
On Nov. 7, senior Louis Feinstein was named the CAA Special Teams Player of the Week following his game-winning kick against William & Mary.  Feinstein connected on a a 27-yard FG with 1:39 remaining in the game to provide the margin of victory in the 24-21 win against the Tribe.  This is the second weekly CAA honor of Feinstein's career. In his collegiate debut, he made two field goals - including one from 47 yards - and three extra points during a 27-24 victory over Monmouth on Aug. 30, 2008. That 47-yard kick was the longest of his career.

BJF = TD
Junior wide out Brandon Johnson-Farrell has hauled in three TD passes over his last four games - including a career-best 46 yard strike at. New Hampshire.  He currently ranks sixth in CAA Football in all-purpose yards, averaging 119.4 per game.

100, 100, 100 - first time since 1984
Last time out versus Delaware, Rhode Island had two receivers - Anthony Baskerville (147) and Brandon Johnson-Farrell (100) - gain at least 100 yards in the air and a running back - Deontray Johnson (122) - rush for at least 100 yards.  The last time this happened in URI football history was Oct. 6, 1984 against UMass, when Brian Forster (101) and Tony DiMaggio (156) reached triple-digits in receiving yards, while Rich Kelly rushed for 145 yards.

DULANY DOING IT ON D
Senior safety Darrell Dulany made a single-game career high 15 tackles at James Madison.  His previous high was 13, set this season at UMass.

BOB COMES UP BIG IN FIRST START
Sophomore Bob Bentsen earned the first start of his collegiate career against Delaware and made the most of it.  The 6-1 QB was 18-for-33 for 278 yards and three TD's.  He also rushed for 33 yards, including a two-point conversion.  In his last 10 quarters of play, Bentsen has six TD passes.

CAREER DAY FOR JOHNSON-FARRELL
Junior wideout Brandon Johnson-Farrell enjoyed one of the finest performances of his career on Oct. 22 against Delaware.  The Arundel, Md. native hauled in six passes for a career-high 100 yards - including two TD's.

RHODE ISLAND BORN, RHODE ISLAND BRED
When sophomore quarterback/Warwick native Bob Bentsen made his first start against Delaware on Oct. 22, it marked the first time a Rhode Island native started under center for the Rams since Narragansett's Steve Holland did so vs. Towson on Sept. 12, 1992.  

TWO DEGREES OF SEPARATION
Prior to Bentsen, the last R.I. native to start a game as the signal caller at Meade Stadium was current Rams' QB coach Liam Coen.  From 2005-08, Coen starred at UMass.
 
BENTSEN PROVIDES SPARK
In his first action under center last time out at Maine, sophomore QB Bob Bentsen sparked a second-half comeback for the Rams.  The Warwick, R.I. native was 11-of-17 for 158 yards - including two touchdown passes to Anthony Baskerville.

ROCK SOLID
Rhode Island junior Kyle Bogumil has started in every game at offensive guard since the start of the 2009 season. Last week at James Madison, Bogumil logged his 30th consecutive start.

PROBST RUSHES FOR CAREER-HIGHS AT BROWN
Quarterback Steve Probst racked up a career-high 180 yards on the ground at Brown on Oct. 1.  The senior signal-caller had his two longest career rushes - both for TD's.  In the first quarter, Probst broke through the line for a 71-yard score.  In the 3rd, he added a 61-yard run to the endzone.  It was the highest single-game rushing total by a Rhody player since Jayson Davis gained 189 yards vs. Villanova on Oct. 22, 2005.

MORE ABOUT PROBST'S TD RUSHES
Steve Probst's 71-yard touchdown run was the longest single-run from scrimmage since Oct. 13, 2007, when Jerell Jones broke out with an 84-yard run versus James Madison.  His 61-yard scamper was the longest since Anthony Ferrer's 68-yard score against Brown on Oct. 3, 2009.

CAREER-HIGH FOR MIGLIARESE
Junior tight end Joe Migliarese racked up a career-best 65 receiving yards vs. Brown on Oct. 1.  His previous high - 56 yards - came last year at Richmond on Nov. 13.

PROBST BLUE RIBBON
Following a year where he set single season career highs in virtuallly every passing category, quarterback Steve Probst continues to set new career marks in 2011.  At UMass on Sept. 17, Probst set new career-bests in passing (279 yards), passing TD's (4), and longest reception (83).  He completed TD passes to Brandon Johnson-Farrell (18 yards), Ty Bynum (39), Billy Morgan (48) and Anthony Baskerville (83).

HURD, JOHNSON SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY
Head coach Joe Trainer announced prior to the William & Mary game that running backs Travis Hurd and Deontray Johnson have been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team rules.

ROAD ISLAND
For the first time since 1982, URI started a season with back-to-back road games.  That season, the Rams played their first three contests away from Meade Stadium.
