RHODE ISLAND VS. HOFSTRA

  • Friday marks the fifth time that Rhode Island and Hofstra have met on the hardwood.
  • Rhody holds a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series.
  • The last meeting came on Dec. 22, 2007, with the Rams earning a 88-69 victory at the Ryan Center.


RHODE ISLAND VS. BOSTON UNIVERSITY

  • Saturday marks the 36th time that Rhode Island and BU have faced off in a game.
  • Rhody holds a 24-11 advantage in the all-time series.
  • The Terriers are the Rams' 18th most-common opponent.
  • URI won the previous meeting between the two schools, 48-38, on Nov. 29, 2005 in Boston.


RHODE ISLAND VS. CLEVELAND STATE

  • Sunday marks the third time that Rhode Island and Cleveland State played each other.
  • The all-time series is tied at 1-1.
  • The last meeting came on Nov. 27, 1999, with the Rams earning a 73-69 victory in Hilo, Hawai'i as part of the Big Island Invitational.


RHODE ISLAND AT THE THOMAS M. RYAN CENTER - ONE WIN AWAY FROM 100

  • URI holds a 99-42 (.702) regular season record in the Ryan Center since the arena opened for play on Nov. 26, 2002 with a 73-71 victory over USC.
  • The Rams have won 11 or more home games in each of the last five seasons - including a program-record 15 during the 2009-10 season.
  • Rhode Island has captured its last 31 non-conference games at the Thomas M. Ryan Center.

RHODE ISLAND IN HOME OPENERS

  • From Lippitt Hall, Rodman Hall, Keaney Gymnasium, sometimes the Providence Civic Center, and now to the Thomas M. Ryan Center, URI teams have posted an 92-12 (.883) record its first home game of the season.  
  • Last year, Rhody picked up a 92-67 win over Brown in last year's home opener on Nov. 16, 2010.

RHODE ISLAND IN IN-SEASON TOURNAMENTS

  • Dating back to the 1949-50 season, Rhode Island is 60-62 (.496) all-time in in-season tournaments.
  • Earlier this season, URI dropped a 100-90 decision at Texas in the opening round game of the TicketCity Legends Classic.  
  • Rhody will also play in the UCF Holiday Classic in late December.

  • Since discovering his long-distance jump shot, Orion Outerbridge is 11-of-21 from the perimeter - good for 52.4%
  • Both Outerbridge and Jamal Wilson have scored in double-figures in three straight games for the first time in each player's career.
  • This is Rhody's first game on "Black Friday" since the 2000-01 season, when the team played in the Great Alaska Shootout over the Thanksgiving holiday

NOVEMBER SPAWNED A MONSTER

  • Last season, the Runnin' Rams finished the month of November with a 5-2 mark.  It was Rhody's sixth consecutive November with a winning record.  
  • Under head coach Jim Baron, URI is 37-19 in the 11th month - including a 21-7 mark since 2007-08.
