What It Means:
Rhode Island earns its first victory of the 2011-12 season and extends its home non-conference win streak to 32 games. It also marks the 100th victory for Rhode Island at the Thomas M. Ryan Center since the building opened its doors on Nov. 26, 2002 with a 73-71 overtime win over USC.

* Freshman Jonathan Holtonstarted off strong, scoring 14 of the Runnin' Rams' first 25 points. He finished with a team-high 20 points, to go along with six boards, two blocks, an assist and a steal.
* Three other Rams reached double-digits in the scoring column - Nikola Malesevic added 18 points and three assists; Jamal Wilson had 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists; and Orion Outerbridgechipped in with 11 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
* Wilson scored 13 of his 15 over the last 10:09 of the ballgame.
* Anthony Malhoitproved to be a spark in the first half, coming off the bench to score a career-high seven points in 12 minutes. The senior guard also added five rebounds and two steals in his first action of the season.
* Entering today's contest, Malhoit had totaled six points and two steals (to go along with 21 rebounds).
* TJ Buchanan again led the Rams in assists with five. Over the last two games, he has dished out eight assists to just two turnovers as the team's backup point guard.
* Today's game marked the third time in four games that the team passed the 85 point mark. The last time Rhode Island scored 85 or more in three consecutive games was during the 2008-09 season (85 at Monmouth; 92 vs. VCU; 94 vs. Hartford).
* Rhody connected on its first alley-oop and took its first charge of the season. At the 13:14 mark of the first half, Buchanan found Holton on a fast break for the first oop of the season. At the 8:11 mark, it was Buchanan who took the hit from a driving Stevie Mejia.
* The former Rhody point guard - now starting for Hofstra - finished the game with three points, two assists, a steal and a rebound in 29 minutes.

The Runnin' Rams will continue play in the TicketCity Legends Classic on Saturday, Nov. 26 when they take on Boston University at 5 p.m. Cleveland State and Hofstra play the first game of the day at 2:30 p.m.
